Al Newton

Mr. Albert "Al" Newton, Jr., passed peacefully on Monday, July 29, 2024 at home surrounded by family members.

Al was born in Chicago, Illinois on March 29, 1940 and received his Bachelor degree in chemistry and mathematics at Northwestern University. He spent his early career working in nuclear medicine sales and then as a certified fire safety engineer in Georgia. His fondest childhood memories are fishing with  his dad on lakes in Illinois and northern Wisconsin and then as a family man exploring and walking in the woods.  

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, and sons, Eric (Karen) Newton of Arlington, Virginia and Todd (Marcie) Newton of Tampa, Florida. in addition he leaves behind his two beautiful granddaughters; his wife of 63 years, Marilyn Minarcine Newton, sons, Eric Scott Newton and Todd Alan Newton along with two granddaughters, Riley and Reese, and his wife's five rescue dogs. Mr. Newton chose cremation.

Services have been entrusted to Coile and Hall Funeral Directors and Crematory, 333 E. Johnson Street in Hartwell, Ga 30643
