Obituary for Anne Minarcine

Mrs. Anne Huzevka Minarcine, age 100 of 3145 Moore Road, Elberton, Ga., went to be with the Lord on Sunday afternoon, June 26, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on July 2, 1915 in Chicago, IL to the late John Huzevka and Susanna Sajdak Huzevka. She was a homemaker and attended New Bethel United Methodist Church. On any Saturday, as one entered Anne's kitchen the heavenly aromas of home baked goods filled the senses, cakes, pies, strudels, or any assortment of pastries filled the back porch of the little house in Brookfield, IL to cool fresh from the oven. This is but one of the many memories of mom we have cherished. We lost Anne after 100 years of being a loving, caring, dedicated wife and mother. She was preceded in passing by her father and mother, her husband, Marty Minarcine, brother, John Huzevka, and sister, Eva Marecek. Anne is survived by her children, Robert (Suzanne) Minarcine, Marilyn (Al) Newton, and Garry (Sandra) Minarcine. She had six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Her family and all that knew her will always remember her sweet smile, unshakable faith in God, and devotion to family. She loved being outdoors to work in the yard or garden or to simply feel the warm sun on her face. When weather allowed, it was rare not to find Marty and Anne sitting in the backyard after dinner enjoying the evenings. She never had an unkind word about anyone or raised her voice in anger. We hope that when our time comes we can join her and once again delight in those truly heavenly aromas. She loved the outdoors with her flower and vegetable gardening. She also did amazing crochet and quilting.

The funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at 4:00 pm in the chapel of the Coile-Hall-Spagnoli Funeral Home. Rev. Ann Mann will officiate. The family will receive friends from 3-4:00 pm prior to the service. Burial will take place on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at 11:00 am in Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs, GA.
