James Franklin Baker

Mr. James Franklin Baker, age 89 of Tony Drive in Hartwell, Ga., passed away peacefully on March 8, 2025 at Comer Health Care and Rehab.

He was born on June 13, 1935 in Okolona, MS. He was retired from Tenneco Automotive where he was a tool and die maker. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and served in the Korean War.

Left to cherish his memory are; his wife, Rachel Huff Baker, children, Joy Moses of Lavonia, Richard Anthony (Lynn) Baker of Canon, GA, Sharon Tyree of Bowman, GA and Rhonda (Judson) Barton of Hartwell, GA along with a special niece, Joyce Vaughan ; grandchildren, Dustin (Carrie) Baker of Hartwell, GA, Hunter Barton of Royston, GA, Harrison (Arielle) Barton of Royston, GA, Daniel (Savanna) Baker of Hartwell, GA, Elaina Baker of Canon, GA, Kayla (Brian) Anderson of Hartwell, GA, and seven great grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam H. Baker and Effie Williams Baker, son, Carl Alan Baker and siblings, Walker, JD, Tom, Odell, Volene, Mozell, Mickey and Molly, his great granddaughter, Ella Grace Fain, and his four legged best friend, Petey.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Eleven o'clock  am at Reed Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. 

Family members are at their respective homes.  

Services have been entrusted to Coile and Hall Funeral Directors and Crematory, 333 E. Johnson Street in Hartwell.
