James D. Hancock

Mr. James Douglas Hancock, age 74, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at Brown Health and Rehab in Royston, GA.

Born on June 26, 1948 in Hart County to the late C. D. Hancock and Maddie Wiley Hancock. Mr. James Hancock was a retired machine operator in the textile industry. He also served in the United States Navy.

He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Yolanda McCan, brother, Paul Hancock, grandaughter, Lashae Hancock and nephew, Shawn Hancock.

Mr. Hancock is survived by his son, Idrick Hancock, siblings, Curtis Hancock (Elaine) of Commerce, GA., Mary Montgomery of Toccoa, GA., and Betty Lipscomb of Connecticut. Also surviving is a god sister, Elizabeth Harper of Hartwell, GA., and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Services for Mr. James Douglas Hancock will be held Friday January 20, 2023 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors with Rev. Doris Gray officiating. Burial will follow at New Light Baptist Church in Lavonia, GA.

Arrangements are under the care of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E Johnson Street in Hartwell.
