J.C. Long

Mr. J.C. Edward Long, age 84 of Statesville, N.C., formerly of Hartwell, passed away on November 17, 2022 in Statesville.

He was born to the late George and Ina Ruth Lewis Long on September 1, 1938, in Hartwell, GA.

He retired from Statesville Flour Mills (now Bartlett Milling) as a supervisor. He enjoyed watching westerns, the series "In the Heat of the Night" and reaching out to his relatives over the phone or in person.

Mr. Long is survived by his wife; Marie Lewis Long of 44 years, sons; James Calvin (Lisa) Gibson of Troutman, NC., James (Lucille) Lewis of Statesville, NC., and daughter; Bonnie Elaine Lewis of Statesville, NC., brothers; Joel Long and Carey Carter of Hartwell, GA., Billy Wayne Long of Miami, FL., sisters; Reba Joyce Long, Sarah Long, Barbara Long, and Louise Eberhardt, all of Hartwell, GA., grandchildren; Mathisa Lashae Wellman, Corey LaBron Gibson, and 7 great grandchildren, special niece; DeShannon Daniels of Statesville, NC., and a host of special nieces and nephews, other relatives, and loving friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings; Ricky Long, Linzella Long, Jim Frank Long, Ruby Long, Harold Long, Lue Dean Long Martin, and Calvin Long.

Funeral services for Mr. JC Long will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at eleven o'clock in the Chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors with Pastor Richard Shellar officiating. Burial will follow in the Zion CME Church Cemetery in Hartwell, GA.

Services are entrusted to Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E. Johnson Street in Hartwell.
