Mr. Jimmy Lee Verdell, departed this life on Monday, February 1, 2021, at Anmed Hospital in Anderson, SC. after a short illness.

He was born August 24, 1949, in Hartwell, GA. to the late Janie Verdell and Walter Scott. He attended Hart Co. Training School. Jimmy joined Zion CME Church at an early age. He worked night time for Dunlop Sport, 20 years for Honeywell, and after retiring, he continued to work for Anderson Independent Mail; where he devoted his time delivering the paper to his wonderful customers.

Preceding him in death is a sister; Emma Sue Harper and brother; Joseph L. Verdell.

He leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife of forty eight years; Shirley Mitchell Verdell of the home, two daughters; Cheryl (Donald) Carter and Tifany Verdell of Hartwell, GA., six brothers; Bennie (Dorothy) Verdell of Austell, GA., Billy (Janice) Verdell and Louis (Ovella) Verdell of Hartwell, GA., Robert (Renee) Verdell of Piedmont, SC, Carey Scott of Cleveland, OH., and Wayne Scott of Orlando, FL., three sisters; Phyllis Arthur of Mableton, GA., Deborah Verdell of Athens, GA., and Angela Scott of Cleveland, OH., grandsons; Jeremy, Travis, Bryce and Tyler of Hartwell, GA., granddaughter; RoseMary and Morgan of Hartwell, GA, great- grandson; Tra'Veon of Lavonia, GA., nephews raised in the home; Randy Mitchell of Hartwell, GA. and Michael Marshall of Tigard, OR., godson; Octavious Rucker of Lake City, FL., Special Aunt; Ms. France Sim of Mableton, GA., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Jimmy Verdell will be held Friday, February 5, 2021 at one o'clock in the Chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors with Rev. Richard Sheller officiating. The body will Lie in State on Thursday, February 4, 2021 from 1:30-4:30pm.

The family of Mr. Verdell has chosen the Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E. Johnsons St. Hartwell, GA 30643 to arrange and conduct all services.
