Mrs. Katie Elizabeth Mattox Burton, a resident of Cokesbury Highway in Hartwell, Ga., went to be with Jesus at her home on her 90th birthday surrounded by her family.
She was born on March 11, 1930 in Hartwell to the late Artis Mattox and Susie Starks Mattox. She was a homemaker, member of OES #102 for 31 years and a member of Norman Grove CME Church.
She is survived by; her children, Charles Burton, Sue Joyce Burton, and Denise Hardmon and sister, Ruby Nell Eberhardt. Forty five grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Hubert Burton and children, Ivory Burton, Artis Burton and Stanley Burton.
Funeral homegoing services for Mrs. Katie Burton will be held on Sunday, March 15, ,2020 at Two o'clock from Norman Grove CME Church in Elbert County with Rev. Geray McWhorter and Rev. Eddie Thornton officiating.. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at the home, 2536 Cokesbury Highway, Hartwell, Ga.
