Lela Bertha Morrison

Mrs. Lela Bertha Allen Morrison, age 77 of Maple Street in Hartwell, Ga., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday evening, August 27, 2020 at AnMed Health Medical Center.

She was born in Hartwell on June 18, 1943 to the late M.C. Allen and Evelina Maxwell Allen. She was a homemaker and member of Trinity Outreach. She had the greatest gift of hospitality, she loved cooking, fellowship and just being surrounded by family and friends.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband, James T. Morrison "J.T." of Hartwell, Ga., son, James Darryl (Pamela) Morrison, daughters, Melinda (Tracy) Curry all of Hartwell, Ga., and Rose Mary Jones of Bronx, NY., sister, Molly Heard. Six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, cousins, and friends whom she loved dearly along with special friends; Marvella Harris (Pearl),Eula Ree Tate (Dean), Jeneva Holland and Alma Bowman (Lois). She was preceded in death by brothers, John Mac Allen and Bennie Allen, sisters, Sally Roebuck, Blanche Stowers, Addie Merritt, Ruby Baker and Emma Turner.

Funeral home going services will be held on Monday, August 31, 2020 at Eleven o'clock in the chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors. Rev. Gail Blackwell and Rev. Richard Sheller will officiate. Burial will follow at Cedar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Morrison will lie in state at Coile and Hall Funeral Directors on Sunday, August 30, 2020 from Noon until 4:00 p.m. The family will not be holding a wake and will be at their respective homes.

Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E. Johnson Street in Hartwell will be serving the family.
