Obituary for Maurice Jean Whisenant
Mr. Maurice Jean "Whiz" Whisenant, age 81 of Capri Drive in Hartwell, Ga., entered into rest on Saturday afternoon, July 2, 2016 at St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital in Lavonia, Ga., with his family by his side.
Born July 4, 1934 in Huntsville, AL to the late L.D. and Robbie Doggit Whisenant, he was a retired General Contractor in the construction industry and an active member of Lavonia Church of Christ.
He is survived by; son, Maurice Gene "Butch" Whisenant and daughter, Crystal Chappell. Five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 60 years, Patricia Gayle Mixon Whisenant and daughter, Kelley Whisenant.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.
Coile-Hall-Spagnoli Funeral Home, 333 E. Johnson Street in Hartwell will be in charge of the arrangements.
